Two Biggest Differences Between Recreational and Competitive Youth Basketball

Raw skill matters, but much higher levels of athleticism and mental toughness are what separate recreational play from competitive play in youth basketball. These are the main aspects I suggest parents evaluate closely when searching for the right “fit”  for their student-athlete(s).
Before this assessment, parents must first ask themselves if the fit, or better said the experience, they seek is truly a competitive team. Parents are too conditioned nowadays into thinking that finding a team and playing games are how kids grow as players and young people. It's the contrary. While games may help kids learn a bit about leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship, only a more immersive basketball Academy that offers individual skill training and character development, within a positive and up-lifting environment, will instill the key attributes in young boys and girls required to succeed in life.
