Youth Basketball Skills Development Partnership with Thomas Jefferson High School
As such, TJ will serve as the primary training facility for all Centennials competitive TEAMS during the 2016 spring season. High quality youth skill and character development is very important to both the Centennials and TJ boys basketball coaching staffs.
"This partnership creates a much-needed avenue of learning for youths that are serious about crafting their game, not just for those within TJ's immediate vicinity, but the greater Southeast Denver metro area as well," stated the Academy Founder, Armando Carrillo, Jr.
This partnership is non-exclusive. The Academy will continue building relationships with other high schools in similar fashion, and will continue hosting year-round skills clinics, conducting private basketball coaching sessions and performance training in other gyms. Only through this approach, will the Academy do its part in helping to boost the quality and quantity of basketball talent that emerges out of our cherished Centennial state of Colorado.
Player Evaluations (tryouts) for Mile High Centennials basketball teams competing in the 2014 JAM Fall League, which runs from September 7th to October 19th, are conducted during any of the club's training sessions.
The first, official action of the Mile High Centennials basketball club will be the 2014 J.A.M. Spring League. The first, official boys team will compete at the 7th grade NIT level, the lower of two skill levels (NCAA being the upper), which still offers up ample competition. J.A.M. may be new to the club, but it is quite familiar to the Centennials coaching staff.
Something BIG has hit the Denver, Colorado youth hoops scene. It is a club that welcomes young male athletes of ALL skill levels, not just the "elite," to drop-in and train year-round, with no strings attached. It is a club that helps boys discover and unravel their true basketball playing potential. It provides competitive and fun team environments and competition. It is also a social outlet that helps young men make new friends, while developing character, accountability, respect and sportsmanship.
